The Charter of Theta Xi National Fraternity designates Gamma Sigma as a Chapter of men at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point who believe in the Seven Purposes and the Oath of Membership of Theta Xi, but Gamma Sigma is so much more!

 

Gamma Sigma embodies the concept of Fraternity first envisioned and established in the 19th Century. It is a Brotherhood that subscribes to a higher set of standards and ideals rooted in strong heartland vales. Gamma Sigma is a tangible demonstration of equality, brotherhood, chivalry, and academic achievement whereby each member is encouraged to reach their highest potential in all they do.

 

The uniqueness of Gamma Sigma among Theta Xi, and even among all Fraternities across the country, is the philosophical underpinnings that are at the heart of its existence. Such philosophy begins with a limited membership, so that only select men are welcomed into the Brotherhood. 

 

New members, from day one, are welcomed into an environment where basic decency and respect for others is the norm as noted by an Associate Member education program and not a traditional Fraternity "pledge" program. The new members quickly learn they have joined an organization that is better than one self as upperclassmen guide the organization to build on decades of success in academics, intramurals, community service, campus involvement, and overall chapter operations. Alumni affirm the value of a good reputation and offer a gentle hand of guidance while continuing to demonstrate that the Quest for Theta Xi and chapter membership is a life-long experience. 
 
Gamma Sigma, at its core, a living laboratory of democracy, citizenship, and student development where the love of God, country, community and campus is celebrated. Gamma Sigma provides a moral compass during years of growth and the experimentation into adulthood, yet the joys and fun of college life are not crowded out as members strive to reach their goal of obtaining an academic degree and a diploma in life skills and friendships.
